Hi Ho SILVER!!!!!!

Well I stopped at a little park on my way back to Auckland from Taupo and convinced the Mrs let me do a quick 5 min hunt... well this is what I found :D and I will definitely be going back.

Watch your watches.... GOLD!!!!!

Well I found this old busted watch which was giving my F2 some odd numbers... I chucked it into the car in the ash tray (where I put my ok finds) it sat there for several weeks... well I looked over at the backing which had fallen off and sure enough I clearly read "18k .750" !!!
It's a solid GOLD WATCH!!! I am so glad I did not just throw it away!

Free Tip: CHECK watches before throwing them out!!!! lol

Another hunt with DJevel at another nice secret spot ;)... Silver!

Well this spot did not disappoint!  I managed 2 NZ SILVER shillings (best I have done in a LONG time :) ) and DJevel took the cake with 3 shillings and 2 sixpence! I always seem to find more spendable and he more silver... lol (I''d prefer the silver ;) )

I don't know how he does it but he manages to get some nice permissions... I have yet to get a response from mine.... oh well.

Finds from the last three hunts

Well I haven't had enough time to put all my finds in a picture and now after three hunts I can't remember what went with what and some of my gold coins have been well spent ;).

So here are the good things that I found in the last three hunts

Hunt #1 with DJevel: I don't know what that pewter button is but the shilling is a 1945.

Hunt #2 at beach: 3 3d's one British one with oak leaves. 31, 36 ,43, pre 1921(not shown no date)

Hunt #3 at another beach: 3 3d's one old British one. 25, 40, ?(needs a better clean) found some other really nice find here too... including gold and platinum!

November 10th Hunt with Djevel @ a special location

Well this hunt was a fun one as I got to hunt with Djevel @ a special place that he had permission to hunt!  That means that this was the first time that it has been hunted :D. Djevel did hunt it once yielding 2 silver 6d's!


We did make some great finds! Djevel found a pure silver ring and a silver 6d!

November 4th Hunt at the Beach

Another day out at my lovely beach!

Nothing much worth noting other than the nice 1800's flat button that I found... in really good nic too!

DIAMONDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hunt #2 on the volcano

So I went back to the volcano but tried a different spot and boy was I glad!!!!  I found the usual canslaw but with that was an old broken horse shoe, and what I think was an old lead bag seal...  but boy was I surprised when I found this ring!

Detecting a volcano! 10/14/13

Well I had about a 30 to 45 minute hunt today at a volcano.  There is a lot of ground to cover and I barely put a dent in it.  I did film it too so you can get a sense of the hunt.

Live Hunt

Well I decided to start recording my hunts to give you all a taste of the hunt :D.  I have two videos out now but I plan on posting my videos with my post.  Enjoy :)

September 23, 2013 - Hunts 1 & 2

Well had a day of metal detecting... nothing as amazing as that last hunt!  but I did get away with 3 more silvers :D

Hunt # 1 - Best find is the 1860's 3d (sterling silver!!!)

Hunt # 2 - Best finds are the two 50% silver 3ds

Well had the BEST metal detecting day ever! I was out with the two kids and boy did we get some good finds!

First we found over 100 luger shells... someone had fun along time ago ;) and as I was finding them I pulled up a 9k gold men's ring! then about 1 meter away another heavier 9k gold ring!

But the best find of the day in my opinion was the 1836 William IIII 6p!!!! and then I got an 1896 3p!

You'd think that it could not get any better... but then I found another Gold ring!!! this one was a ladies ring and is very old with nice Hallmarks... will post a pick once that one clears :).
